The best analysis technology on the market
All the cork stoppers belonging to the batch are analysed with the modern mass spectrometry technology combined with time-of-fly guaranteeing fast, accurate and reliable analysis. It is also possible to request a specific TCA threshold value for each delivery, ensuring the flexibility and adaptability according to customer’s specific needs. The machine is capable of detecting the presence of the TCA molecule with concentrations up to 0.1 ng/l.
Pre-selection of cork planks and fast sniffing
The first stage of selection is based on a thorough inspection carried out by our specialist operators on the raw material, both visually and sensorially, aimed at eliminating the defects detectable on the raw cork bark. After the pre-selection of the planks, the semi-finished cork stoppers are analysed by means of the “hot sniffing” technique, an analysis method that involves the thermal conditioning of cork stopper to release the volatile compounds attributable to TCA, the smell of mould and negative off-flavours.
Controlled and guaranteed cork stoppers
Each individual cork stopper is instrumentally analysed with the utmost precision, guaranteeing the refund of the bottle’s commercial value in the event that a presence of TCA above the required threshold is reported and detected.
