CORKING TIPS
The main rules to follow to preserve the quality of wines
Type and pressure of the wine, transport conditions and the profile of the internal diameter of the bottle neck are the variables that must always be taken into account in order to correctly choose the most suitable cork.
- Verify that the cork is perfectly inserted in the compression chamber and does not protrude outwards
- Check that the corker does not cause any deformation or alteration to the cork structure
- Check the exact insertion level of the cork (for mouth-finish corking between 0 and 1 mm)
- Check the volume of the inner tube
- Keep bottles at end of line as long as possible in upright position (minimum recommended time 3 hours; optimum time 24 hours)
The sparkling process and the awareness of the internal overpressure in the bottles
Identification of the right type of sparkling wine stopper (cork stopper with washers, micro-agglomerate with or without expanding microspheres) in relation to the type of wine to be bottled
The use of the cork stopper with the right diameter according to the kind of the selected bottle
Adjustment of the correct corking depth to avoid loss of wine pressure or difficulties during the cork stopper extraction
