Controlled Oxygenation with Pondus®

Pondus® is Sugherificio Molinas’ new proposal to offer the market stoppers designed and weighed for each specific wine, thanks to a high-precision weighing system.

Pondus® is the result of studies that began in 1987 and were resumed in the last two years, thanks to a renewed spirit of innovation and with the intention of favoring the wineries that choose us as partners every day, to better develop bottled wines, especially those that are valuable or require special aging.

Thanks to a technique based on oxy-luminescence, we monitor the dynamics of gas exchange between the cork and the wine, in particular the OTR (Oxygen Transmission Rate), a fundamental parameter whose management influences all the organoleptic characteristics of the wine. With Pondus®, we are proposing a closure that can offer the best possible evolution of the wine in the bottle.

The project also represents a new opportunity for value creation, directly involving prestigious wineries and bottlers from all over Italy.
